Vanilla Changes
Comprehensive List of All Newwind Tweaks to Vanilla Gameplay..
Newwind uses Paper (custom minecraft server software) in order to run smoothly,
compared with vanilla, paper has a few minor tweaks and bug fixes,
you can read about them here
Join Messages
Join and leave messages are throttled,
to prevent people spamming chat by joining and leaving rapidly.
Bed Traps
Bed traps, when a player's bed location causes them to die in an infinite loop, are patched.
If you keep dying in close proximity to your bed, your bed location will be reset,
as there is no way to escape without getting someone else to free you.
Portal Traps
Portal traps, when a player is blocked in a nether portal from all sides, are patched.
If you join the game while fully trapped inside a nether portal, the portal will be destroyed,
as there is no way to escape without using cheats or getting someone else to free you.
Mob Drops
In all dimensions except the end, upon death,
Endermen have a 10% chance to drop an Ender Bone.
Death Messages
Death messages have a cooldown to prevent spam,
the [Square Brackets] around item names are removed,
when you click a player's name in death message, it autocompletes /msg instead of /tell
and players who rage quit have a custom death message.

Knockback
While a player has weakness, their ability to deal knockback enchant effect is removed.
This is to prevent knockback spam.
Mace Nerf
Maces have had their damage capped to 100, as in their un-nerfed form they undermine newwind's custom pvp.

Ender Pearl Stasis Nerf
You cannot teleport more than 500 blocks flat distance using an ender-pearl.
This is to prevent people abusing pearl stasis to escape any situation by using alts to load the pearl.
Respawn Mechanics
If you do not have a bed location, you will be respawned at a random location within the spawn walls.
Invisible Item Frames
This small tweak is for building, if you throw a splash potion of invisiblity on an item frame that has an item in it,
the item frame will turn invisible until it is interacted with.

Lightning Strike Cooldown
In minecraft, the amount of lightning strikes when it rains is proportional to the number of loaded chunks,
meaning on a server with many players and thus many loaded chunks, lightning can happen very often,
for this reason there is a 10 second cooldown on lightning strikes caused by weather.
Respawn Anchor Nerf
Respawn anchors do 50% of the damage that they do in vanilla, as in their un-nerfed form they undermine newwind's custom pvp.
End Crystal Nerf
End crystals do 50% of the damage that they do in vanilla, as in their un-nerfed form they undermine newwind's custom pvp.
Elytra Cooldown
To reduce the disk/cpu strain on the server from generating many chunks, elytras can have a rocket cooldown.
This only apples when you aren't in spawn and are in chunks that only ever been loaded for less than 10 minutes.
The cooldown time depends on the dimension you are in and the flight duration of the rocket, which ranges from 1 to 3
for overworld the amount of time is: 15 * duration
for the nether the cooldown time is 8 * duration
for the end the cooldown time is 5 * duration
For example, if you elytra boosted using a flight duration 3 (max)
firework rocket in the nether the cooldown would be 24 seconds.
Riptide Cooldown
For same reason as elytra cooldown, riptide effect with tridents has a cooldown.
All riptide tridents have a base cooldown of 2 seconds, because riptide spam creates bugginess.
Cooldowns higher than 2 seconds only apply when you aren't in spawn and are in chunks that only ever been loaded for less than 10 minutes.
The cooldown time depends on 3 factors
airBoost
= whether you are boosting in the air while it is raining.isGliding
= whether you are currently gliding with an elytra.wearingElytra
= whether you are currently wearing an elytra (and could possibly start gliding).
if you are gliding while you riptide:
the cooldown time is 45 seconds or 120 seconds if you are also air boosting.
if you are wearing an elytra:
the cooldown time is 30 seconds.
Otherwise, the cooldown time is 5 seconds.
Bow Boosting With Punch Cooldown
For same reason as elytra and trident cooldown, bow boosting yourself while using an elytra with more than punch 2 has a cooldown.
This only apples when you aren't in spawn and are in chunks that only ever been loaded for less than 10 minutes.
The cooldown time is always 30 seconds.
Turtle Master Potion Cooldown
If you apply turtle master potion, there is a 300 second cooldown before you can get it again,
This cooldown exists as the use of many turtle master potions (which are easily obtainable)
makes someone near impossible to kill in pvp.
Totem Cooldown
If you pop a totem of undying, there is a 10 second cooldown before you can use another,
if you die while the cooldown is active you will not be saved.

makes someone near impossible to kill in pvp.
